Flamenco: Flamenco is originally from Andalucia, but
nowadays it is a typical dance for Spain.

Flamenco has typical music
and when the dancers are done dancing, they shout “OLE”! It is typical, that
the girl is wearing a red dress and that the girl has a flower in her hair.

Schuhplatteln: “Schuhplattler” are mostly
men, that are dancing in their leather trouses. They clap with their hands on
their legs and their shoes. Normally it is only danced in the south- east of
Germany, but there are lessons to learn it in a lot of other regions too.

Fluch der Karibik: Pirates of the Caribbean
is a movie that Disney produced in 2003. It is an American movie but a very
famous actress in it is from Spain. She is called Penelope Cruz and had a
leading acting roll.

Penelope Cruz: Penelope Cruz is a Spanish
actress but is known world-wide. She already won one Oscar and took part in
more than 30 movies.

She is known from the movies
“Sex and the City 2” and “Pirates of the Caribbean”.

Guernica von Pablo Picasso: The “Guernica” is one of
the most famous art works that Pablo Picasso ever drew. He drew it in 1937,
where the city Guernica in Spain got destroyed by the air force. In 1937 was
the Spanish Civil War and Picasso drew the picture, because he thought, that
the war is awful and he felt like he had to do something

Penélope Cruz Sánchez

Penélope Cruz Sánchez was born
as the daughter of Eduardo Cruz, a car mechanic, and Encarnación Sánchez, a
hairdresser. She has two younger siblings: Mónica, also an actress, and
Eduardo, a well-known singer in Spain.

At the beginning of July 2010
she married her acting colleague Javier Bardem on the Bahamas. The marriage
produced a son (* 2011) and a daughter (* 2013).

After studying classical
ballet at Spain's National Conservatory for nine years, Cruz continued her
training with a number of prominent dancers. At the age of 15 she won a talent
competition. The related contract gave her various roles in Spanish television
shows and music videos, paving the way for a career on the big screen. Her
appearance in the music video La fuerza del destino by the pop group Mecano in
1988 was the first time she achieved a certain fame in Spain.

Cruz made her film debut in El
laberinto griego (The Greek Labyrinth, 1991). After that she had a small role
in the TV mini-series Eiskaltes Duell with Timothy Dalton (1992). Her third
film was the Oscar-winning Belle Epoque (1992), in which she plays one of four
sisters competing for the favor of an attractive deserter. Her film biography
continued to grow by three to four films a year and soon Cruz was the leading
woman in Spain's cinema. Live Flesh (Carne trémula, 1997) gave her the
opportunity to work with Spain's renowned director Pedro Almodóvar (who later
became her door opener to international film). In the same year she starred in
the mystery film Virtual Nightmare - Open Your Eyes (Abre los ojos, 1997),
which was remade with her (again in the same role) in 2001 alongside Tom Cruise
as Vanilla Sky for American cinema.

Her career culminated in 1998,
when she won the Goya Award for Best Actress for the film industry comedy The
Girl of your Dreams (La Niña de tus ojos, 1998). Cruz, who also made trips into
English language film, had her first international hit with Almodóvar's
Oscar-winning work All about My Mother (Todo sobre mi madre, 1999), in which
she plays a pregnant AIDS-sick nun. The film was showered with awards and
praise and Cruz was now known and coveted on both sides of the Atlantic.
